
Stainless steel sheet metal parts often look simple, but maintaining consistent bending accuracy can be challenging during production. Material thickness, bending radius, springback and part geometry can all affect the final dimensions. Before bending, our production team reviews the customer's 2D drawings and 3D files. Bend locations, hole positions, material thickness, bend radius and overall dimensions are checked first. This helps identify potential interference or deformation issues before the sheet metal enters the forming process.
Material condition is another important factor. Stainless steel has relatively high strength and noticeable springback after bending. We select suitable tooling and adjust the bending parameters according to the material and part structure. For parts with multiple bends, the bending sequence is also considered to reduce distortion and improve consistency.
After forming, key dimensions are inspected rather than relying only on visual checks. We pay particular attention to overall dimensions, bend angles, hole-to-edge distances and the relationship between different formed surfaces. If a part requires further CNC machining, drilling or other operations, the bending accuracy is also considered during the subsequent manufacturing process.
For stainless steel enclosures, brackets, covers, frames and other custom sheet metal components, stable bending accuracy is important for final assembly. Good control at the forming stage can help prevent problems such as misaligned holes, uneven gaps or difficult assembly.
