Jingcheng Precision Uses 5-Axis CNC Machining for Custom Figure Production

Jingcheng Precision is currently working with a figure manufacturer on the production of custom collectible figures, using 5-axis CNC machining to manufacture selected parts of the figure.

Unlike standard industrial components, figure parts often include curved surfaces, fine details and irregular shapes. These features can make machining more challenging, especially when the part requires good surface quality and accurate reproduction of the original 3D model.

For this project, the customer provides the figure design and 3D CAD data, while our team focuses on the manufacturing process. We review the model, consider tool access and workholding, and select suitable 5-axis machining strategies for the required geometry.

5-axis CNC machining allows the cutting tool to approach the workpiece from multiple directions. This can reduce the need for repeated setups and make it easier to machine complex curved surfaces compared with conventional 3-axis machining.

During production, our machining team pays attention to surface finish, dimensional accuracy and consistency between parts. After machining, the parts are inspected before moving to the customer's subsequent assembly or finishing processes.

This cooperation also demonstrates that CNC machining is not limited to traditional industrial parts. With the right machining strategy, CNC technology can also be used for custom models, collectible figures, prototypes and other products with complex shapes.
